Description:
The Battery, located at the southern tip of Manhattan, is the cradle of NY's history and is one of the city's most visited parks. Its 23 acres are visited annually by over 4 million national and international tourists plus the 14 million commuters that traverse this landscape each year. To date the Conservancy has brought $42 million to rebuild the park, including the two waterfront promenades, the Bosque, and design development of the Battery Garden Bikeway and adaptive reuse of the Castle.
